In 1995, Mrs. Terra White was hired as the full-time Church Secretary. She assumed the position as the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor in 1997. Today she serves as the Executive Assistant to both the senior pastor and the co-pastor. In this capacity, Mrs. White is responsible for providing a high level of administrative and clerical support to the senior pastor and co-pastor and effective coordination of the Executive Office. In addition to these responsibilities, Mrs. White provides support to the wedding ministry, in which she schedules premarital education sessions for engaged couples. She also is responsible for registering persons for the Sacrament of Holy Baptism.
One of the former responsibilities held dear to Mrs. White, is in 1999 when she had the privilege to serve as the Administrative Assistant to the Atlanta North District for several years, under the leadership of the late Presiding Elder Samuel W. Wicker and his lovely wife, the late Mrs. Ruth Wicker. During this time she was honored to work with and to get to know many of the great preachers of the Atlanta North District and their families, many of whom she continues to be in fellowship with today.
Mrs. White joined Turner Chapel in 1993. She has been very active over the years within the Mass Choir, Bible Study, Women’s Ministry and Youth Ministry. She is a native of Union City, TN, however, was raised and spent most of her youth in South Bend, IN. She is the daughter of the late Rev. Alfredia Steward, an ordained Local Elder of the AME Church, and to whom she contributes her love and affiliation of the AME Church to.
Mrs. White is married to Henry White, III and they are the proud parents of Brianna, Brittany, Henry, IV and Terrell. Mrs. White is a lover of family and enjoys spending time making new memories. One of Mrs. White’s favorite’s scriptures is John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
