Financial Empowerment Conference

Financial Empowerment Conference

Jan 26 - 28, 2018

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The focus of the 2018 conference series is to impress upon the participants the importance of taking charge of their situation rather than waiting to be rescued from their situation, taking action on the things they can control to shape their own destiny. As always, we will continue to emphasize improving financial literacy, and during this Mid-Term Election year, we will also incorporate content to inform and empower participants to exercise their political power to make a difference in their community. For this year, we have expanded the conference to a full weekend of activities that include not only education but also networking, fun, and the opportunity to speak one-on-one with experts to get started on changes you can make to improve your financial situation.

SESSIONS & SPEAKERS

Get Engaged & Empowered - A Financial & Political Leadership Panel
The time for sitting on the sidelines and letting others make decisions for you is over. Your present and future are too important and the stakes are too high for you not to be an active participant in the issues that effect you financially and politically. Make sure you are taking advantage of what has been a growing economy, using all of the opportunities in the financial system to improve your situation; and take steps beyond being just a registered voter but an informed citizen who understands candidates and issues so that elected officials are accountable to the people. This panel discussion featuring local, national, and international leaders will inspire you to action and answer the questions that will show you how to move from observing bystander to participants in positive change.

Sharing Your Legacy Through Estate Planning
Whether they know it or not, everybody has an estate plan. The question is whether your plan is of your choosing or the state's plan. The fact that the issues addressed in an estate plan are not the ones you feel most comfortable discussing, doesn't make it any less important. An estate plan is a way for you not only to decide who gets what when you pass away, but it is an important contingency plan for what may and will happen, along with a way to preserve the legacy of the life you've built over the years. You will learn in this session what goes into creating an estate plan and the options you have to make that plan fit the legacy you want to leave.
